For Designer Series, Platinum Series and Prelude Series 1. Press under a 1/2"(1 cm) seam allowance on the fabric edges that will be stitched together. You could also stitch a rolled hem on the fabric edges.
2. Change the regular needle plate to the Spanish Hemstitch Plate. Attach the white Fabric Separator to the front of the needleplate. Snap on the Spanish Hemstitch Foot. Thread with a matching thread top and bobbin.
3. Line up the pressed edge of the pieces on each side of the Fabric Separator on the plate. Optional: Place a decorative thread in the groove of the Fabric Separator. Lower the presser foot.
4. Select a zigzag, threestep zig zag or a decorative stitch. On the Designersz, Stitch E15 works well. Adjust stitch width to 5.0-6.0 to make sure that the needle catches the fabric edges. Note: Avoid using stitches with side motion.
5. Sew, holding the edges gently together in front of the foot. |
